Thriller definition:
A style of film, often based on horror, where it uses tension suspense and excitement. Sub-genres include conspiracy thriller, where the protagonist deals with lots of antagonists, crime thriller, where there is often a gory and/or fatal crime, and psychological thriller, where the characters battle is mental or emotional rather than physical.
The target audience for thriller is 15- 19 year olds. However, due to the wide range of sub genres the target audience can be lower or higher than this. The purpose of this genre is primarily to scare or shock the watcher. This is created by the tension and suspense in the music, plot, editing.
