Continuity
what is continuity?
on our first lesson we discussed what continuity is.
continuity is mistakes in films that mean the action doesn't run smoothly, or in chronological order. For example, this could be if you were filming outside on two different days, and the weather was different. Once edited, you would see the weather swap between the two. Other types of mistakes can include wearing different clothes, having different hair and make up, and having items of the wrong era seen.
Continuity Mistakes

this crew member is clearly seen in Pirates of the Caribbean- curse of the black pearl

in Harry Potter, Hermione's legs disappear due to the editing

here is a selection of continuity errors from the TV and movies.
camera techniques
the compulsory techniques for the preliminary task:
match on action
a cut, where instead of following the
action continuously, you cut to make the
action look continuous.
shot-reverse-shot
where you swap between two camera angles, usually in conversation, amd to show reactions
180 degree rule
only filming in a semi-circle so the subjects don't swap places
